It’s getting to be that time of year where people start worrying about their immune system and what they might catch in the fall.
I’ve got some tips that I use for my family to help us stay healthy during this time and also for my practice members, and you can easily use them, too.
1. There isn’t actually a flu season.
Those viruses and bacteria are around us all the time!
It’s just that with the fall weather, we become more susceptible to them.
So what can you do?
The first thing you want to do is you want to make sure that you’re eliminating things that decrease your immune system activity.
For example, sugar is really going to decrease your immune system activity.
It’s no wonder that more people get sick around Halloween and then Thanksgiving and then Christmas.
2. Make sure you’re getting enough sleep.
If you’re not getting enough sleep, that’s going to bring your immune system function down.
At the same time, make sure you’re drinking enough water.
3. Boost your immune system activity.
Chiropractic adjustments boost your immune system.
There’s scientific evidence that chiropractic adjustments boost your immune system activity anywhere from 200 to 400%.
That’s 200% more than a healthy person, and then 400% more than a chronically sick person.
4. Make sure that you’re eating plenty of fruits and vegetables.
If you can get it fresh and local, then that’s going to have more nutrition in it and it’s going to be healthier for you, it’s going to boost your immune system.
For example, kombucha here has probiotics, which helps your gut health, which will boost your immune system activity, making sure you’re getting enough vitamin D and zinc, that you have those in your system.
